RSS feeds

The basic idea of RSS formats goes back to 1995 when Apple Computer's Advanced Technology Group developed the Meta Content Framework.

Really Simple Syndication is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works in a standardized format.

An RSS document or feed includes full or summarized text and metadata which benefit web publishers by letting them syndicate content automatically or aggregate feeds from many sites into one place and readers who want to subscribe to timely updates from websites.

RSS feeds can be read using software called "RSS reader","feed reader" or "aggregator".
This software can be web-based,desktop-based or mobile-device-based.
